Turkey is ramping up its trade diplomacy with key partners, Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced. A new working group has been formed to address tariff issues with the US following recent trade tensions and reciprocal tariffs. Bolat emphasized the importance of calm, focused efforts, noting the group is assessing the impact of Washington’s trade policies on Turkey.

With US$15.5 billion in US investments in Turkey and US$11 billion in reverse trade, Bolat said enhancing bilateral economic ties remains a top priority. Talks with US officials are ongoing, with both sides open to negotiation. Turkey is also preparing for EXPO 2025 Osaka. Bolat hopes the event will boost Japanese investments, which currently total US$3 billion.

Additionally, Turkey reaffirmed its commitment to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) by extending the operation of its Istanbul center for another three years, aiming to support inclusive growth in developing and emerging economies.
