On April 24, 2025, South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance decided to impose provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties on hot-rolled carbon steel and other alloy steel plates originating in China. This measure will be valid for a period of four months, from April 24, 2025, to August 23, 2025. The decision aims to prevent injury to the domestic industry during the investigation period.

The AD duty rates range from 27.91% to 38.02%, applied to hot-rolled carbon steel or other alloy steel plates of iron or non-alloy steel and other alloy steel with a thickness of 4.75 mm or more and a width of 600 mm or more. These products are under tariff codes of Harmonized System Korea (HSK) 7208.51.1000, 7208.51.9000, 7208.52.1000, 7208.52.9000, 7225.40.9010, 7225.40.9091, and 7225.40.9099.

Hot-rolled steel coils and cold-rolled steel products are excluded from this provisional AD measure.
