Statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) showed that the US exported around 7,900 tons of hot-rolled coils (HRC) in January, falling by 28% compared to the previous month but surging by 224% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, exports to Mexico accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 7,700 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 29% and a year-on-year surge of 248%. Exports to other countries weren’t significant.

During the period, the export value was roughly US$15 million, down by 24% month on month and soaring by 151% year on year.
