India and the UK have resumed free trade agreement negotiations after a nearly one-year hiatus and set a target to double or even triple the bilateral trade from the current US$20 billion over the next decade.

Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and British Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds jointly announced the resumption of free trade agreement negotiations in New Delhi.

Besides, India and the EU are also expected to hold a bilateral ministerial meeting and set up a trade and technology council to address issues such as the contentious Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
