According to the report, the United States (US) President Trump announced the implementation of reciprocal tariffs ranging from 17% to 49% on select countries, along with a uniform 10% import tariff on goods. Items such as steel, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors may be temporarily exempt from these tariffs. Over 180 countries worldwide are included in the tariff list, which is expected to significantly impact major manufacturing nations in Asia and the European Union.

The US government imposed a general 10% tariff on all imports from the US, which took effect on April 5. It also imposes tariffs of 34%, 20%, 46%, 32%, 24%, 26%, and 25% on major trading partners China, the European Union (EU), Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, India, and South Korea, which will take effect on April 9. A 25% tariff on all foreign imported cars will take effect in the early hours of April 3. After three rounds of tariffs on China, the US tariff rate on Chinese imports has reached 54%.

The US imposition of global import tariffs will directly affect various local industries, which will encounter the challenge of rising costs, further exacerbating the already severe inflation in the US.
