According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on March 21, 2025, the US rig count rose by one to 593 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas went up by two to 102 units, and that for oil declined by one to 486 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 31 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count dropped by 19 to 180 units from the previous week, including 118 oil rigs (down by 21 week on week) and 61 gas rigs (up by one week on week). Canada’s rig number grew by 11 units compared to the same period a year ago.
