The world's second-largest steelmaker, ArcelorMittal, announced on March 25th the acquisition of the remaining 60% shares of Tuper, one of the largest steel processors in Latin America that can process 826,000 tons of steel per year.
ArcelorMittal already acquired Tuper's 40% shares in 2016. Thus, it will fully control Tuper. The country's Administrative Council for Economic Defense has around 60 to 90 days to review this acquisition and then make the final decision.
