Chloroplant Company Limited, a subsidiary of Marcon LC, secured a US$17 million contract from Singapore’s H1Hydro Group to design, build, and operate a 10 MW green hydrogen plant in Sarawak, Malaysia. The facility, scheduled to launch in early 2026, will utilize modular European electrolysis technology to enhance efficiency and scalability.

The project supported Sarawak’s ambition to become a clean energy hub by leveraging its renewable resources, particularly hydropower. Discussions with South Korean and Malaysian firms are ongoing to establish storage and transportation solutions. With competitive production costs, the plant aimed to be a major green hydrogen supplier in the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to global decarbonization efforts.

Future expansion includes a hydrogen container distribution network targeting South Korea and Japan. The initiative is expected to create economic opportunities, drive job growth, and integrate Sarawak into the global hydrogen supply chain.
