According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on March 14, 2025, the US rig count remained at 592 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas went down by one to 100 units, and that for oil grew by one to 487 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 37 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count dropped by 35 to 199 units from the previous week, including 139 oil rigs (down by 31 week on week) and 60 gas rigs (down by four week on week). Canada’s rig number slid by eight compared to the same period a year ago.
