Taiwan’s Customs Administration announced that it would continue imposing anti-dumping (AD) duties on imported cold-rolled stainless steel flat-rolled products from China and South Korea for another five years. The duty rates are 38.11% for China and 37.65% for South Korea.

Taiwan first imposed these AD duties on August 15, 2013, following applications from local stainless steel producers Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd. On August 7, 2024, the Ministry of Finance launched a second sunset review after a renewal request on February 19.

According to the investigations concluded by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, lifting these AD duties could lead to continued or reoccurring dumping and injury to the domestic industry. Besides, the Ministry of Economic Affairs found no substantial evidence that extending the AD measure would negatively impact Taiwan’s overall economic interests so the measure would remain in place.

The subject products are SUS 300 series flat-rolled products of stainless steel, cold-rolled (cold-reduced), whether in coils or sheets, covering SUS 301, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and 321, as well as other products with corresponding specifications. These products are under HS codes 7219329011, 7219329012, 7219329019, 7219339011, 7219339012, 7219339019, 7219349011, 7219349012, 7219349019, 7219359011, 7219359012, 7219359019, 7220209011, 7220209012, and 7220209019.
