USGS: Global nickel production increases by 12% in 2022

According to a preliminary forecast by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), global nickel production from mines reached 3.3 million tons in 2022, growing by 21% compared to the output in 2021.

Among them, the production from Indonesia, the largest nickel producer in the world, totaled 1.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 54%. The Philippines ranked second with 330,000 tons, followed by Russia’s 220,000 tons.
