According to statistics from the US International Trade Commission, the US exported around 1.034 million tons of scrap in January, rising by 19% compared to the previous month and by 4.6% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, exports to Turkey accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 282,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 57% and a year-on-year hike of 33%. Bangladesh ranked second with nearly 99,000 tons, followed by Mexico’s 98,100 tons.

During the period, these scrap exports were worth approximately US$416 million, up by 6.4% month on month and down by 7% year on year.
