According to final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 79,000 tons of line pipes in January, a 68.6% surge from December and an 80% jump compared to the same month last year.

South Korea was the leading supplier of line pipes to the US, exporting around 28,000 tons during the period, a month-on-month increase of 40% and a year-on-year growth of 47%. Mexico ranked second with nearly 13,000 tons, followed by Ukraine’s 7,000 tons.

In terms of value, imports totaled roughly US$106 million, up by 64% month on month and by 61% year on year.
