Taiwan’s Yusco raises 304 prices by NT$1,000/ton for Mar

27 Feb 2025 09:32 reported by Claude Tseng

Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel manufacturer in Taiwan, announced a hike in the price of 304 cold-rolled and hot-rolled stainless steel coils by NT$1,000/ton, which is a continuous rise in a row in two months. The surcharge of 316L products and the price of 430 products were both kept flat.

Raw materials such as nickel pig iron and ferrochrome all increased and the stainless steel scrap remained high. Affected by this, Taiwanese stainless steel mills tried to adjust prices to offset the high raw material costs.

The US is about to launch new tariff measures and cancel the exemption qualifications of some countries, which could benefit Taiwan's export market.

However, downstream customers thought the market demand remained weak after Trump announced the new tariff. It still needs time to observe the demand from the end users and industry.
