Due to the US' imposition of a 145% high tariff on China, Cho Jung-tai, President of the Executive Yuan, said that China's low-priced products may be dumped into Taiwan or shipped to the US through Taiwan. The government will strengthen inspections and monitoring to prevent violations.

Cho Jung-tai said that Trump announced a 90-day pause of tariff measures, with a temporary 10% tariff on most other countries, but the tariff on China was as high as 145%.

To reduce the impact, Taiwan’s government has proposed five major response strategies, including improving reciprocal tariffs through negotiations, supporting impacted industries, proposing medium- and long-term economic development plans, deepening Taiwan-US cooperation, and starting a listening tour.
