Salzgitter AG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Swedish ventilation company Lindab Steel to supply carbon-reduced steel through the SALCOS® program. This green steel will be used for air ducting systems and construction products like roof and facade cladding.
Lindab Steel aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and is adding SALCOS® steel to its portfolio to meet future sustainability goals. According to Thommy Psajd, Sourcing Director at Lindab Steel AB, this partnership supports the shift toward low-emission steel production. Salzgitter is also transitioning to hydrogen-based steelmaking under its SALCOS® program, aiming for near-carbon-free production by 2033.
