Nucor, a US steelmaker, has announced another increase in the spot price for hot rolled coil (HRC). Effective March 3, the base price will be US$900/st across most production facilities, while California Steel Industries (CSI) will see a slightly higher price of US$960/t.

This marks the sixth consecutive price increase this year. The previous price update occurred on February 24, when Nucor set the HRC base price at US$860/t.

The price adjustment follows a similar strategy employed by Cleveland-Cliffs, which recently raised its minimum HRC price to US$900/st for April contracts. This alignment suggests a coordinated approach among major steel producers in responding to current market conditions.
