Alro: US tariffs could flood Europe with Chinese cheap aluminum

15 Apr 2025 16:11 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Alro, one of the main aluminum companies in Romania, is concerned about a potential influx of cheap Chinese aluminum into Europe following new US tariffs.

Marian Năstase, the Chairman of Alro, cautioned that redirected exports from Asia, especially from China and Indonesia, might disturb the European market by offering lower prices than local manufacturers.

While Alro sees a limited opportunity in the US market due to a small export quota, the company anticipates pressure from low-priced Asian imports.

Alro is susceptible to changes in international trade policies and global competition, especially in light of increasing trade tensions between the US and China.
