Tenova secured a contract from Marcegaglia Gazoldo Inox to modernize and restart its 20-Hi Cold Rolling Mill at the Gazoldo degli Ippoliti plant in Mantua, Italy. The upgrade will feature advanced Level 1 and Level 2 automation, a next-generation Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and machine learning tools to optimize rolling operations.

The revamp aims to boost production volumes, enhance product variety, and improve mill performance through Tenova’s Advanced Roll Cluster Configurator and automated roll management system. Vibration monitoring will also be introduced to improve process stability and control. The revamped mill is expected to be put into operation by early 2026.
