Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod manufacturer in Taiwan, announced its price for April yesterday (March 31), with 300 series wire rods increasing by NT$4,000-5,000/ton, 200 series by NT$1,000/ton, and 400 series by NT$500/ton. This is the third consecutive month of price increases since February. 

Due to the rise in nickel and copper prices, many global steel mills all increased their prices. Taiwan's upstream steel mills also followed to hike the price for April. 

In addition, the depreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar (NTD) has increased the mills' production cost. Meanwhile, Taiwan's stainless steel market has benefited from the transfer of orders recently. German also planned investment of EUR 500 billion in infrastructure, which is expected to boost demand for stainless steel. 

In considering of above factors, Walsin Lihwa decided to hike its steel prices for April.
