According to the World Steel Association, Austria produced around 511,000 tons of crude steel in February this year, down by 11.5% year-on-year and by 14.7% month-on-month. In January-February, Austria produced 1.1 million tons of steel, 110,000 tons less than the same period last year.

US tariffs and Europe's difficult economic environment have affected production. However, demand for railway infrastructure, aerospace sectors, etc. remains strong. In addition, the reduction in the value of raw materials offsets the low price part, and a better product mix and higher profits also offset the decline in sales.

The overall EU steel production in February was 10.1 million tons, falling by 7% year-on-year. Production in the first two months was 20.4 million tons, 1.1 million tons less than the same period last year.
