In the first two months of this year, China’s stainless steel imports fell by 29.3% year on year to around 322,000 tons, while exports rose by 11.84% year on year to around 755,000 tons.

In February alone, imports reached 160,000 tons, a month-on-month drop of 1.19% and a year-on-year decline of 28%. Exports totaled 275,000 tons, down by 42.7% month on month but rising by 6.6% year on year.

Net exports in February stood at 115,200 tons, a month-on-month fall of 63.8% and a year-on-year surge of 220.9%. The figure totaled 433,400 tons for the first two months, soaring by 104.4% year on year.
