Godo Steel, a steel manufacturer in Japan, announced its plan for an investment of around 12.8 billion yen to renovate the rolling mill equipment at its Himeji Works.

The plant mainly produces structural steel round bars, an important component material for construction machinery and other equipment. The renovation plan will start in the fiscal year 2025 and is expected to be completed and put into operation in the second half of the fiscal year 2028.

The renovation will update the medium-sized rolling mill that has been in operation for 85 years to the latest equipment. The goal is to improve product quality and dimensional accuracy while reducing labor requirements and enhancing small-volume production capabilities.
