Chinese investment of $9 billion to build nickel smelting chain plants in Indonesia

Vale Indonesia recently announced that it will cooperate with China's enterprises to build three nickel smelting chain plants or nickel ore refining and processing facilities, with a total investment of approximately US$8.6 billion to US$9 billion, equivalent to 143.5 trillion Indonesian rupiahs.

Vale Indonesia expressed the hope that the downstream processing industry will accelerate development. These three projects include building a chain smelting plant in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi Province, another chain smelting plant in Morowali, Central Sulawesi Province, and the third project to build a chain smelting plant in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Currently, these three projects are still under construction.
