Commodities trader and miner Glencore is in collaboration with non-ferrous scrap buyer and trader Zeb Metals to invest in an aluminum scrap and dross recycling plant in Charleston, South Carolina.

The plant, scheduled to be put into use by the end of this year, will include two rotary furnaces to recycle aluminum dross and industrial scrap for local consumption.

Glencore has already been engaged in the recycling of copper scrap and precious metal scrap at facilities in the US, Canada, Italy, and Chile. This new project is Glencore's first time getting involved in aluminum scrap recycling.
