The new US steel tariff, launched on March 12, imposes a 25% tariff on all steel imports to the US; obviously, this new policy will severely impact global steel producers, especially Chinese steelmakers.

However, this new policy is clearly in favor of domestic steelmakers such as Cleveland-Cliffs, Nucor, and U.S. Steel, which is seeking acquisition by the Japanese company Nippon Steel. Furthermore, some global steel producers also get benefits from the new steel tariff.

It was reported that global steel producers BlueScope, Yamato Kogyo, SSAB, Kloeckner, and Acerinox are the ones that could benefit from the new US measure because they have a strong presence in the US steel market.
