According to statistics, India's scrap imports in December 2024 were 778,000 tons, falling by 39.4% compared to the same month a year ago, declining for five consecutive months, but up by 7.5% from the previous month.

The annual import volume in 2024 totaled 9.39 million tons, down by 20.1% year on year, the first drop in three years, but still the second highest in history.

The US, the UK, and Singapore were the top three suppliers, with exports falling by 28.9%, 39%, and 15.3% year on year, respectively.
