On April 4, 2025, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced its preliminary affirmative determinations of the anti-dumping (AD) duty investigations on corrosion-resistant steel products from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, the UAE, and Vietnam.

Among them, the duty rate is 17.01% for Australia, 31.53%-137.76% for Brazil, 2.31%-52.08% for Canada, 3.43%-14.43% for Mexico, 22.59% for the Netherlands, 17.90% for South Africa, 2.64%-67.90% for Taiwan, 0%-15.18% for Turkey, 7.01%-16.37% for the UAE, and 39.84%-88.12% for Vietnam.

Additionally, in early February, the USDOC also unveiled its affirmative preliminary determinations of the countervailing duty (CVD) probes of the same products from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam. The subsidy rate for Brazil is 0.33% (de minimis) to 1.72%, Canada received 1.21% to 41.40%, Mexico will be subject to 0% to 1.56%, and Vietnam was assigned a rate of 0% to 140.05%.

The USDOC is scheduled to announce its final ruling on August 18, 2025 for the AD case and June 17, 2025 for the CVD case, and the US International Trade Commission (USITC) will confirm its final ruling on October 2, 2025 for the AD case and August 1, 2025 for the CVD case.
