Baosteel, a leading steelmaker in China, announced it would keep its prices flat for May. Due to the disturbance of the US tariff trade war, the steel market was subdued in China. China's macroeconomic policies remain positive, but the recovery of the demand for steel is slow.
At the same time, coal and iron ore prices dropped, and China's transaction prices also decreased recently. Baosteel still decided to maintain the price in order to stabilize the steel price in the market. As a result, Taiwan's China Steel Corp. might follow unchanged prices for its new price.
