According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on April 4, 2025, the US rig count fell by two to 590 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas went down by seven to 96 units, and that for oil rose by five to 489 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 30 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count dropped by ten to 153 units from the previous week, including 99 oil rigs (down by nine week on week) and 54 gas rigs (unchanged week on week). Canada’s rig number grew by 17 units compared to the same period a year ago.
