Aperam, a stainless steel manufacturer headquartered in Luxembourg, said last Thursday it would explore possible exemptions from new US tariffs with its American customers.

In a statement to Reuters, the company noted the long-term economic impact of the tariffs is unclear and could affect investment decisions.

Aperam said the current regulatory predictability is uncertain, and it is harmful to business on both sides of the Atlantic. It also urged the EU to respond appropriately and proportionately to protect European steelmakers from the impact of US policies.
