According to data from Canacero, Mexico's steel industry association, in February, Mexico's apparent consumption of hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) sheets increased by 5.4% from the same month a year ago to about 370,000 tons, which was the ninth consecutive year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, the production grew by 1.5% year on year to 269,000 tons.
In the first two months of this year, Mexico's apparent consumption of HDG sheets went up by 8.7% from the corresponding period a year ago to 734,000 tons. In the same period, the production increased by 4.5% year on year to 555,000 tons.
