Primetals Technologies, an engineering and plant-building company headquartered in London, has launched Arvedi ESP line No. 2 at a steel plant in Hebei province, China.

The customer’s first ESP line has been put into full operation since 2021, and the ESP line No. 2 is Primetals’ ninth ESP line in the world.

Compared with traditional casting and rolling processes, the ESP line can lower energy consumption and related costs by 50%, and the direct carbon dioxide emissions during the production process are zero.

Arvedi ESP is the only carbon-neutral thin slab casting and rolling process officially confirmed by third-party certificates.
