According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China produced a total of around 156 million tons of rebar in the first eight months of this year, rising by 1.9% compared to the same period a year ago.

During the period, China’s output of wire rods was 94.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%, and welded pipe production hiked by 12.8% year on year to 42.2 million tons.

In August, China’s rebar and wire rod production dropped by 1.7% and 2.9% year on year to 18.8 million tons and 11.9 million tons, respectively. The output of welded pipes increased by 7% year on year to 5.5 million tons.
