It was reported that the Mexican steelmaker Deacero is planning to reduce 56% of CO2 emissions by 2030, compared to 2019. To achieve this goal, the company makes new investments aligned with climate challenges seeking to drastically reduce its CO2 emissions and become one of the cleanest steel manufacturers in the world.

According to the World Steel Association, in 2022 Deacero emitted only 0.24 tons of CO2 per ton of liquid steel produced, the figure is much below the world average of 1.9 tons of CO2.

Deacero, also the largest recycler of metal scrap in Mexico, reuses more than 4 million tons of steel a year. It manufactures a wide range of products derived from steel, and has a global presence and strategic location in more than 20 countries in North and South America with more than 7,500 local distributors.
