WV Stahl: Germany's crude steel production declines in Mar y-o-y

According to statistics from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), Germany's crude steel production totaled around 3.1 million tons in March, decreasing by 11.3% compared to the same month a year ago.

During the period, the production of hot-rolled steel was down by 7% to 2.8 million tons, and that of pig iron fell by 15% to roughly 2 million tons, both on a year-on-year basis.

In the first three months of this year, Germany's crude steel output amounted to roughly 8.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13%. Hot-rolled steel and pig iron output reached 7.6 million tons and 5.3 million tons, down by 11% and 16% year on year, respectively.
