India and the European Union resumed free trade agreement (FTA) talks on March 10 in Brussels, marking the restart of negotiations after more than eight years.

According to reports, the India-EU FTA is expected to be finalized in 2025 in order to mitigate the risk of potential tariff hikes by the Trump administration.

In the 2023-24 fiscal year, India's exports to the EU were approximately US$76 billion in goods and US$30 billion in services, while the EU's exports to India were US$61.5 billion in goods and US$23 billion in services.
