ArcelorMittal invests in US electrical steel production plant

European steel giant ArcelorMittal announced plans to build an advanced non-grain-oriented electrical steel (NOES) production plant in Alabama, US. Upon completion, this facility will be the company's second-largest steel production site.

The new facility, which will be wholly owned by ArcelorMittal, will have a production capacity of 150,000 tons of NOES. It aims to support the automotive industry, renewable energy production, and other industrial and commercial applications, including electric motors, generators, and specialized uses.
