On November 19, 2024, the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) made a preliminary determination of the anti-dumping (AD) measure on structural steel products from China and Thailand.

In order to protect the domestic industry, the ITAC decided to impose a provisional AD measure on the subject products for six months. China received a provisional duty rate of 52.81% and Thailand received 9.12%.

The products involved are U, I, and H sections of iron or nonalloy steel, not further worked than hot-rolled, hot-drawn, or extruded (extruded, excluding H- Sections of a height greater than 200mm), and other angles and shapes of iron or nonalloy steel, 80 mm or more in height not further worked than hot-rolled, hot drawn, or extruded. These products are under HS codes 7216.31, 7216.32, 7216.33, and 7216.50.

The investigation period of this case is from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, and the injury investigation period is from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
