Japan's ferrous scrap exports slide in Jan-Oct y-o-y

Japan's ferrous scrap exports during the first ten months of this year amounted to approximately 5.2 million tons, reflecting a 10% year-on-year contraction.

Among the primary destinations, Vietnam was the leading importer, with a remarkable 2 million tons, representing a significant surge of 54% compared to the same period a year ago. South Korea and Taiwan followed in rank, importing roughly 1.3 million tons and 545,000 tons, respectively, marking declines of 43% and 34% year on year.

In October alone, Japan's ferrous scrap exports totaled roughly 557,000 tons, indicating a year-on-year decrease of 20%.
