MG Motor to invest $1.05 billion to build manufacturing facility in Mexico

MG Motor, an automotive brand owned by China’s SAIC Motor, said it would invest US$1.05 billion to build a manufacturing facility in Mexico, making the country become a production and export hub for Latin America.

The plant will have an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles, with an investment of US$450 million in infrastructure and US$500 million in equipment.

MG Motor has revealed its plan targeting high-demand vehicle categories, including SUVs and sedans. The brand supply strategy will target not only Mexico but also other Latin American markets.

The plant's construction location and timeline have not yet been disclosed.
