It was understood that Tosçelik Spiral Boru, a large Turkish pipe manufacturer, had started delivering pipes to Germany's Rhine Water Pipeline (RWTL) project. The company, a subsidiary of Tosyalı, the Turkish global steel producer and Europe's largest pipeline manufacturer, won the RWTL tender in April this year. The project is considered one of Germany's most important environmental transformation projects, aimed at rehabilitating unused open-pit mining sites, diverting water from the Rhine River to fill the mine sites, and delivering clean water to protected wetlands.

According to the tender content, Tosçelik Spiral Boru would provide 130,000 tons and 105,000 meters of large-diameter pipes with a diameter of 2,235mm to the RWTL project for 45 kilometers of pipelines. The project was about to start construction and was expected to be completed by the end of 2029.
