European Commission to register imported products under AD and CVD investigations

30 Sep 2024 16:48 reported by Judy Lin

A A A
The European Commission announced that it decided to register all imported products under anti-dumping or anti-subsidy investigations, including all ongoing investigations where provisional determinations haven't been made. The target of this decision is to deal with unfair competition, such as overcapacity.

This move is also expected to avoid a surge in imports of products that are under investigation before the imposition of measures. Imports were usually registered on the requests from the EU industry until now.

The registration could collect retroactive anti-dumping and countervailing duties subject to compliance with legal conditions. The retrospective collection is not automatic and requires certain conditions to be met. The decision is made only at the final stage of each investigation.
