EU starts anti-subsidy investigation on Morocco’s aluminum road wheels

On February 16, 2024, the European Commission initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of certain aluminum road wheels originating in Morocco, based on the complaint submitted by the Association of European Wheel Manufacturers on January 3, 2024. The complainant said that imports of subject goods are being subsidized and are causing injury to the EU industry.

The products involved are classified under CN codes ex 8708 70 10, and ex 8708 70 50 (TARIC codes 8708 70 10 15, 8708 70 10 50, 8708 70 50 15, and 8708 70 50 50).

The period of the subsidy investigation was from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, and the injury assessment period was from January 1, 2020 to the end of the subsidy investigation period.
