Brazil’s pig iron exports hike in May m-o-m

According to Brazilian customs statistics, Brazil’s pig iron exports amounted to around 419,000 tons in May this year, surging by 96.9% compared to the previous month.

During the period, the exports were mostly to the US, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Asia, with the separate volume of around 252,000 tons, 65,000 tons, 55,000 tons, and 15,000 tons, mainly exported by suppliers in the states of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Pará, Maranhão, and Mato Grosso do Sul, of which delivery from the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo occupied the largest proportion, totaling approximately 335,200 tons.
