US’ crude steel output in week ending May 27 increases w-o-w

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on May 27, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.74 million net tons, increasing by 0.5% week on week but decreasing by 1.9% year on year.

During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 77.2%, a week-on-week increase of 0.4% but a year-on-year drop of 3.9%.

As of May 27, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 35.35 million net tons, dropping by 3.9% year on year. In terms of the capacity utilization rate, it was 75.1%, decreasing by 5.4% year on year.
