Cuba’s Antillana de Acero inaugurates new EAF steel mill

Antillana de Acero, a Cuba-based long steel producer, has inaugurated a new electric arc furnace (EAF) steel mill, which is an investment that cooperated by the Cuban and Russian governments.

The EAF steel mill has an annual production capacity of 206,000 tons, mainly producing carbon steel billets used to make rolled and long products, with production that has been ramping up.

The upgraded project included EAFs, ladle furnaces, continuous casting machines, as well as automated systems, and more than 90% of the equipment was made in Russia.
