On March 27, the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) launched a coalition of Aluminium Forward 2030, which consists of IAI's 25 production members and 20 downstream and customer companies who have committed to changing the aluminum industry, with a target to speed up progress towards net-zero emissions while working together to develop a roadmap that includes all the other UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The aluminum industry is now having a primary task of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fighting against climate change. This industry needs to move fully towards net zero carbon in a way that solves all other aspects of sustainability.
