Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) hikes its price by NT$800-1,000 for April last week, and the new leeway prices for April will be announced in recent days. Market participants expected that the new leeway price will follow a hike of prime steel prices.

However, some downstream buyers recommended CSC not sharply increase the leeway price as the current price of prime steel is high and the market demand is weak. The moderate price adjustment will be not only conducive to downstream sales but also competitive with imported sources.
