MMK Metalurji to resume HRC smelter production in Apr

25 Mar 2023 15:16 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
Turkish steel producer MMK Metalurji planned to resume the operation at its 2.3 Mtpa hot-rolled coil (HRC) smelter on April 1. The smelter has been idled for a long time.

The restart of the plant will meet the demand from its own and the domestic market. The current local supply is not sufficient and the foreign sources are high-cost than its own production.

In addition to the existing inventory, MMK Metalurji is actively working to purchase scrap required for production. The company is starting to take orders for April and May.
